Pet Hamster's

Hamsters are wonderful pets. They are good pets for anybody and are great pets for people who work in the day (for they sleep in the day).

They don't need as much attition as dogs but they do need their exersice. I have seen alot of people who have a hamster who just stick it in a cage with food and water bowl and only one toy and they never get it out.That is not kind for the little guy or gal.  Since they sleep in the day, I usually get mine at night just when it is waking up. I have a round ball that he rolls in around the house until I go to bed., since I don't want to wake him up in the day when he is sleeping I do it at night.  Now if you are a busy person and don't have time to get him out that offten, I suggest you get a cage with lots of things to play with like with lots of tubes, ladders, different rooms, a wheel, ect.  Also you can make things from scrach to go in there like, toilet paper tube, a can,  and differnt stuff you can think of that are safe.                                                                         Now another thing that would be good that you can buy at the store or make, is their bedding. Hamsters are kind of like birds in the way that they make nests.  So what I do is give my bird confete (you can buy some at the pet store especally for your hamster)  . I  put it all around the cage so he can go gather it( somthing to keep him active) or I get some toilet paper or anything they can shred and put in there nest.                              Since my hamster has a wire cage, I set a blanket over it. At night he will pull the blaket through the wire and chew it up and stick it in his nest.  Well this keeps him busy at night and at the end of the week he will have had over a half of the blanket  chewed up! And his cage was overflowing with blanket, so I will take out most of it so he could start chewing on the blanket again. It sure keeps him busy and he is always having fun!

I know I mostly talked about the hamsters happiness and not about going to the store and picking one out, but it is pretty simple because the hamster picks out you.           The person at the store will help you pick out a cage or help you with any other acssories.
